Ruby is focused on trying to escape until Tom starts helping her to remember her past, then she begins to question everything. Hippopotamus is a tense, mind-bending psychological thriller that traps its heroine in a waking nightmare with no clear way out. Ruby (Ingvild Deila) wakes from a bad dream into a real one, trapped in a stranger's basement with her legs broken and no memory of who she is or how she got there. Her captor, Tom (Tom Lincoln), tells her she will remain chained until she falls in love with him. At first focused only on escape, Ruby's resolve begins to crack when Tom starts 'helping' her remember her past, and the more he helps, the less she trusts her own mind. The film also stars Stuart Mortimer and Jonathan Cobb in a story that blurs the line between captivity and control. Perfect for fans of full free psychological thrillers on YouTube, kidnapping survival movies, captor-and-captive suspense films, and mind games thrillers like Room, Misery, 10 Cloverfield Lane, or Split, Hippopotamus delivers claustrophobic tension, psychological manipulation, and a gripping fight to hold onto the truth.
