Kings of Horror presents: The Circle Josh’s beloved Grandpa Joe has passed on... and they never even got to say goodbye. So, Josh’s wife, Lori plans to do a séance as part of his upcoming surprise birthday party. Despite a stern warning not to hold such a ritual during a birthday celebration, Lori invites Ina, a spiritual medium, to attend the party and conduct the séance. When family and friends gather in the circle to make contact, long held secrets are revealed as Grandpa Joe leads Josh to the discovery of a Masonic ring hidden in the basement. The second gathering of the circle summons the spirit of Joe’s Masonic brother, Patrick, who levels harsh accusations against Josh’s grandfather, casting aspersions on him. This provokes Josh’s skeptical friend, Kurt to abruptly exit the séance, thereby breaking the circle and inviting an evil entity to take up residence in the house. After a series of supernatural disturbances, the circle congregates one last time to attempt to exorcise the malevolent presence and lay it to rest... but can the door, once opened between our reality and the spiritual realm, ever be closed again? Katie and Brian’s relationship is a dysfunctional mess. After a particularly ugly spat involving a hideous tattoo and the airing of long-simmering grudges, the two call it quits. Soon after, Katie receives a call from her sister Natalie, a high-powered lawyer whose accomplishments have overshadowed Katie their entire lives. Natalie is in town and invites Katie and her (now ex) boyfriend to a dinner party. In an impulsive move to keep up appearances, Katie accepts the invitation for both of them. Baited by the idea of finding “closure,” Brian agrees. The two embark on a journey that involves enlisting the help of Katie’s infatuated coworker, Brian pretending to be an investment banker, the discovery of a platonic affair, a disastrous conspiracy filled therapy session, and countless blow out arguments. As the dinner party draws near, Brian and Katie wonder if they can keep up the charade, or if it will crumble under the weight of their lies and unresolved feelings. It was the first narrative feature-film to depict the Black Panther Party. Storyline: Panther is a semi-historic film about the origins of The Black Panther Party for Self-Defense. The movie spans about 3 years (1966-68) of the Black Panther's history in Oakland. Panther also uses historical footage (B/W) to emphasize some points. Plot: In this semi-fictionalized account of the origins of the Black Panthers, Vietnam veteran Judge (Kadeem Hardison) returns to his hometown of Oakland to find it beset by violence and police discrimination against African-Americans. Judge's friend Cy tells him about a vigilante group that's organizing against the police and introduces him to its leaders, Bobby (Courtney B. Vance) and Huey (Marcus Chong). Judge joins the movement but is soon beset by police pressure to inform against Huey. Tagline: The People Called Them Heroes. The F.B.I. Called Them Public Enemy Number One.
