African Lion | The Price of the Deadliest Battles | FULL EPISODE | Wildlife Documentary. At dawn on the Serengeti a lioness misses by half a beat and pays for it with two days of hunger, because three of every four lion hunts end empty handed. Across four hours of chained chapters, the African lion fights the deadliest battles of the savanna, and every weapon in the wild comes with a bill. Through cinematic footage and educational storytelling, the first hour reads nature as a ledger. A pride digs for hours to pull a warthog from an old aardvark burrow, takes up to half its food from hyenas, and steps around a python at Kruger rather than risk a single wound. Then the film follows the price of the deadliest weapons on Earth: a black mamba that hates to spend its venom, a mongoose whose nerves the venom cannot open, a deathstalker scorpion eaten by a bat that shrugs off its sting, an inland taipan with enough venom for a hundred people that has never killed one, a golden poison frog whose toxin is rented from its diet, a giant centipede snatching bats from a cave ceiling in Venezuela, a pufferfish and a blue ringed octopus sharing one molecule, a cone snail that breathes insulin over a sleeping shoal, a king cobra that eats other snakes, and a Komodo dragon whose real weapon was hidden in its jaw. Epic Moments in This Documentary: A lioness missing by half a beat and walking into two days of hunger A pride digging for hours as a warthog bursts from a hidden side tunnel A whole lion pride stepping around a single python at Kruger A black mamba climbing to a weaver nest without moving a branch A mongoose circling a nine foot mamba until it overreaches A desert bat eating a deathstalker scorpion while the stings keep landing An inland taipan threading into the clay cracks of Channel Country A giant centipede snatching a bat in flight from a cave ceiling A pufferfish swelling into a ball of spikes in a predator mouth A king cobra rising five feet and growling before the fight A Komodo dragon charging from a trail edge in Indonesia African lions facing buffalo on the open plain in the chained chapters Behind the drama is a system. No weapon is cheap, the bill only changes currency: the lion pays in hunger and scars, the mamba in venom that takes days to rebuild, the poison frog in a diet it can never change. Every year 81,000 to 138,000 people still die of snakebite, mostly where antivenom is scarce, while the same arsenals have given medicine a heart drug, a painkiller stronger than morphine, and a molecule that lights up brain tumors for surgeons. The golden poison frog and the Komodo dragon are both Endangered. This documentary contains raw, unfiltered footage of nature at its most intense. Viewer discretion is advised. All footage is captured in the wild with no interference to natural animal behavior.
