Mississippi Masala is a 1991 romantic drama film directed by Mira Nair, based upon a screenplay by Sooni Taraporevala, starring Denzel Washington, Sarita Choudhury, and Roshan Seth. Set primarily in rural Mississippi, the film explores interracial romance between African Americans and Indian Americans. Storyline: An Indian family is expelled from Uganda when Idi Amin takes power. They move to Mississippi and time passes. The dad sues Uganda to get his property back. The now-adult Indian daughter meets and falls in love with a Black man, and the respective families are forced to come to terms with it in the climate of racial hatred and cultural difference. Synopsis: Demetrius is a stalwart, self-made man and owner of a carpet-cleaning business. A chance traffic accident introduces him to Mina, a beautiful young Indian woman whose family fled Uganda under the rule of Idi Amin. Mina's parents, Jay and his wife Kinnu, are outraged by the relationship and concerned about their daughter's disregard for the values and traditions of their culture. Demetrius, it seems, fares no better. However, Demetrius stands steadfast in his belief that a shade of color is all which separates him and Mina. The website's consensus reads: "Sarita Choudhury and Denzel Washington's romantic chemistry lights up the screen in Mississippi Masala, Mira Nair's observant and sexy tale of cultures clashing" We do not own the rights to any of this film. The Complete History Of The Soviet Union

This in-depth, full-length documentary explores how German immigrant Henry Heinz built America's ketchup empire from horseradish in clear glass bottles, creating a dynasty worth billions, but whose descendants spent fifty years in bitter litigation, covered up a 1940 death with $25,000, and watched Senator John Heinz III die in a 1991 plane crash before selling the company for $28 billion. ---------------------------------------- Gain FREE access to secret full-length documentaries on wealthy families "too scandalous for YouTube" by joining our newsletter: ---------------------------------------- Henry John Heinz arrived in America in 1840 from the Bavarian Palatinate village of Kallstadt, working as a bricklayer in Sharpsburg, Pennsylvania, where German immigrants had established a Lutheran community. His son Henry John Heinz was born October 11, 1844, selling vegetables from his mother's garden by age eight and employing three women to help manage his three-quarter-acre operation by sixteen. In 1869, Henry revolutionized the condiment industry by selling horseradish in clear glass bottles while competitors used dark containers to hide adulteration with turnips and wood shavings. The Panic of 1873 destroyed his first company, forcing bankruptcy in December 1875 with $160,000 in liabilities against $110,000 in assets, leading to two arrests and a fraud trial. Despite Pennsylvania law releasing him from obligations, Henry created his M.O. notebook for "Moral Obligations," listing every creditor's name and amount owed, vowing to repay debts the court had legally excused. He rebuilt as F and J Heinz with family savings, launching Heinz Tomato Ketchup in 1876 and growing annual sales from $381,000 in 1884 to over $1.2 million by 1889. The "57 varieties" slogan came from a 1896 New York elevated train ride when Henry spotted a shoe store advertising "21 styles," choosing 57 because it combined his lucky number five with wife Sarah's lucky seven. Henry died May 14, 1919, leaving his estate to three children, inadvertently creating conditions for a fifty-year family civil war between Pittsburgh and California branches. Clifford Stanton Heinz moved to California and died of pneumonia in a Palm Springs hotel room in 1935, but his three children were not told he was dying until too late. When Clifford's will was read, all three California children had been completely disinherited, with daughter Nancy Russell later claiming the Pittsburgh branch pressured their dying father to cut them out. The resulting lawsuit ran fifty years through California courts before partial settlements were reached, draining millions in legal fees while the Pittsburgh branch built civic institutions. In 1940, Marie Jennings died in Pittsburgh under circumstances connected to Rust Heinz, grandson of the founder, leading to a $25,000 family payment that closed the matter without trial or public acknowledgment. Henry John "Jack" Heinz II ran the company from 1941-1966, growing revenues from $100 million to over $500 million while expanding internationally, but his son grew up in distant San Francisco. Senator Henry John Heinz III served Pennsylvania in Congress and Senate from 1971-1991, becoming the first Republican to carry every Pittsburgh ward and co-chairing the National Commission on Social Security Reform. On April 4, 1991, Senator Heinz died when his Beechcraft King Air collided with a Sunoco helicopter over Merion Elementary School during an unnecessary landing gear inspection, killing six people total. His widow Teresa inherited an estate worth $500 million to $1 billion, later marrying Senator John Kerry and becoming a prominent Democratic figure whose fortune complicated Kerry's 2004 presidential campaign. On February 14, 2013, Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway and Jorge Paulo Lemann's 3G Capital acquired H.J. Heinz for $28 billion, ending sixty-five years of public trading on Valentine's Day. The aggressive cost-cutting that followed destroyed brand value, leading to a $15.4 billion write-down in February 2019 and a $62 million SEC settlement over accounting practices in September 2021. Henry Heinz built his empire on the promise that clear glass bottles revealed exactly what they contained, but his descendants learned to manage transparency through institutional philanthropy while keeping darker obligations off any moral ledger.

This is a Fan Made Unofficial Video i created for the Nas song: "New York State of Mind" Album: Illmatic (1994) Nasir bin Olu Dara Jones (/nɑːˈsɪər/; born September 14, 1973), known professionally as Nas (/nɑːz/), is an American rapper. Rooted in East Coast hip hop, he is regarded as one of the greatest rappers of all time. The son of jazz musician Olu Dara, Nas began his musical career in 1989 under the moniker "Nasty Nas", and recorded demos under the wing of fellow East Coast rapper Large Professor. Nas first guest appeared on his group, Main Source's 1991 song "Live at the Barbeque". Nas's debut album, Illmatic (1994) is considered to be one of the greatest hip hop albums of all time; in 2020, the album was inducted into the Library of Congress's National Recording Registry.[7] His second album, It Was Written (1996) debuted atop the Billboard 200 and sold over a quarter-million units in its first week; the album, along with its single "If I Ruled the World (Imagine That)" (featuring Lauryn Hill), propelled Nas into mainstream success.[8] Both released in 1999, Nas's third and fourth albums I Am and Nastradamus were criticized as inconsistent and too commercially oriented, with critics and audiences fearing a decline in the quality of his output. llmatic is the debut studio album by the American rapper Nas. It was released on April 19, 1994, by Columbia Records. After signing with the label with the help of MC Serch, Nas recorded the album in 1992 & 1993 at Chung King Studios, D&D Recording, Battery Studios, and Unique Recording Studios in New York City. The album's production was handled by DJ Premier, Large Professor, Pete Rock, Q-Tip, L.E.S., and Nas himself. Styled as a hardcore hip hop album, Illmatic features multi-syllabic internal rhymes & inner-city narratives based on Nas' experiences growing up in the Queensbridge Houses in Queens, New York City. The album debuted at number 12 on the US Billboard 200 chart, selling 63,000 copies in its first week. Initial sales fell below expectations & its five singles failed to achieve significant chart success. Despite the album's low initial sales, Illmatic received rave reviews from most music critics, who praised its production and Nas' lyricism. On January 17, 1996, the album was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America, and on December 11, 2001, it earned a platinum certification after shipping 1,000,000 copies in the United States. As of February 6, 2019, the album had sold 2 million copies in the United States. Since its initial reception, Illmatic has been recognized by writers and music critics as a landmark album in East Coast hip hop. Its influence on subsequent hip hop artists has been attributed to the album's production and Nas' lyricism, & contributed to the revival of the New York City rap scene, introducing a number of stylistic trends to the region. The album is widely regarded as one of the greatest and most influential hip hop albums of all time, appearing on numerous best album lists by critics & publications. Billboard wrote in 2015 that "Illmatic is widely seen as the best hip-hop album ever". In 2020, the album was ranked by Rolling Stone at number 44 on its list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time, & in the same year, it was selected by the Library of Congress for preservation in the National Recording Registry for being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant". From 2001 to 2005, Nas was involved in a highly publicized feud with Jay-Z, popularized by the diss track "Ether". The feud, along with Nas's subsequent releases Stillmatic (2001), God's Son (2002), & the double album Street's Disciple (2004) helped him restore his critical standing. Nas then reconciled with Jay-Z prior to signing with his then-spearheaded label, Def Jam Recordings in 2006; he adopted a more provocative, politicized direction with the albums Hip Hop Is Dead (2006) and his untitled ninth studio album (2008). In 2010, Nas released Distant Relatives, a collaborative album with Damian Marley that donated its royalties to active African charities. His tenth studio album, Life Is Good (2012) was nominated for Best Rap Album at the 55th Annual Grammy Awards. After thirteen nominations, his thirteenth studio album, King's Disease (2020) won his first Grammy for Best Rap Album at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards. His five subsequent albums—King's Disease II, Magic (2021), King's Disease III (2022), Magic 2, and Magic 3 (2023)—each received positive reception and were produced entirely by producer Hit-Boy. Nas has been second ranked by The Source on their "Top 50 Lyricists of All Time" list in 2012, fourth on MTV's Annual Hottest MCs in the Game list in 2013, and was named the "Greatest MC of All Time" by About.com in 2014. The following year, Nas was featured on the "10 Best Rappers of All Time" list by Billboard. Nas has released ten studio albums since 1994 which are certified gold, platinum or multi-platinum in the U.S.
